This is an OpenSAFELY workspace. It represents a working directory for the 174 - ECHO - Evaluation of Covid-19 vaccine Histories using OpenSAFELY project on all of the secure environments supported by OpenSAFELY.

On each secure environment, the directory includes code from the repository, and the results of running it against real data ("jobs"). Researchers can request jobs are run from this page.

Workspace purpose

To report a comparative safety and effectiveness analysis between two Covid-19 vaccine products (BNT162b.JN.1 / mRNA-1273.JN.1) available concurrently for Autumn 2024 vaccination campaign in England. This analysis uses the analytic code developed for COMPARES-vaccines (COMmon Protocol for the Analysis of Relative Effectiveness and Safety of COVID-19 vaccine products).

Two approaches to control for confounding are used: one-to-one matching without replacement and inverse probability of treatment weighting. A variety of safety and Covid-19-related effectiveness endpoints are considered, informed by availability, reliability, and relevance. We repeat analyses in a variety of population subgroups, and with various accompanying sensitivity
