This is an OpenSAFELY workspace. It represents a working directory for the 172 - Impact and inequalities of winter pressures in primary care: providing the evidence base for mitigation strategies project on all of the secure environments supported by OpenSAFELY.
On each secure environment, the directory includes code from the repository, and the results of running it against real data ("jobs"). Researchers can request jobs are run from this page.
Workspace purpose
This is a practice-level study.
We are investigating weekly and aggregated rates of A&E attendances and hospital admissions during the flu and winter months (October to February), comparing patterns before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Practice-level exposures include consultation rate (aggregated from monthly rates over the year preceding the flu and winter months), practice size, region, and patient case-mix variables (e.g. age, sex, ethnicity, deprivation, multimorbidity). The primary outcomes will be weekly A&E attendance and hospital admission rates; secondary outcomes focus on admissions for ACSCs.
